As the team captain, Adams helped keep the squad working towards each match goals despite the ups and downs of losing streaks and then unbeaten weeks in 2021. The 27 year-old midfielder has been the heart of the midfield since coming here. He played in 33 matches while starting in 29 games in 2021. Adams showed off his quality as a ball distributor with an 87-percent pass accuracy and 29 accurate crosses. He had four assists while also displaying defensive capability with 64 interceptions and 58-percent of his challenges won during the 2021 season.
Adams will be tattooed into SD Loyal history. The British scored the first goal in SD Loyal history in a 1-1 tie against Las Vegas Lights in the team’s debut. It was also his first score in a USL Championship match since 2018. Adams has been a USL Championship journeyman, playing for a handful of clubs in the league throughout his career. His first stint in USL Championship came with Louisville City in 2015. He came to play in the United States after spending 2012 to 2014 playing for minor league teams in England. Adams best seasons in the USL Championship to date came in 2016 to 2018 when he played for Real Monarchs where he played in 62 games and scored eight goals.
