San Diego, CA (Sept. 8, 2020) – Today, San Diego Loyal Soccer Club (SD Loyal) announces an addition to its technical staff with the hiring of Tim Daniels. Daniels joins Landon Donovan and his carefully curated staff during the team’s inaugural season which returned to play after a long hiatus in July. As Assistant Coach, he will assist on all aspects of the technical side including creating and running training sessions, match preparation, film and statistical analysis and scouting.
“Tim has been a wonderful addition to our staff,” said Landon Donovan, EVP of Soccer Operations and First Team Manager. “He has a tremendous work ethic, has a great demeanor around our players and is dedicated to helping our club grow. We are fortunate to have him here at SD Loyal.”
Assistant Coach Daniels, 27, relocates from Michigan where he spent years working with Coach Nate Miller serving as assistant coach at Spring Arbor University and Lansing United. As a part of staff at Spring Arbor, Daniels helped the Cougars finish with two Crossroads League regular season titles and one Crossroads League tournament title. At his most recent stint as Assistant Coach at Lansing Ignite, the USL League One team achieved a 2nd place regular season finish and semi-final playoff appearance.

Daniels is originally from Wheaton, Illinois and now resides in Chula Vista with his wife, Kristiana.
