Partnership to kick off with 2022 SD Loyal season and YMCA Spring Youth Soccer Season
SAN DIEGO (March 15, 2022) – Today, San Diego Loyal SC and the YMCA of San Diego County (YMCA) announced a new partnership making an impact in the San Diego community through health equity and youth programming.
As part of the collaboration, SD Loyal will serve as the “Official Youth Soccer Technical Partner” for the YMCA’s youth soccer leagues, which will feature SD Loyal-branded YMCA youth soccer league jerseys.
“We are thrilled to have the YMCA of San Diego County as an official partner of San Diego Loyal,” said Shannon Mac Millan, Vice President of Community Relations for SD Loyal. “Our primary goal as a Club is to celebrate and unite San Diego. With 14 YMCA branches throughout the region from Oceanside to Chula Vista, this partnership will serve as a conduit for the local soccer community to come together and recognize the unique neighborhoods that make this region the best in the country.”
The partnership, in collaboration with Rady Children’s Hospital also includes integrated content and branding opportunities within select YMCA soccer facilities.
“For more than 60 years, Rady Children’s has provided specialized care to our region’s young athletes to keep them healthy, active and in the game,” said Patrick Frias, MD, President & CEO of Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego. “Our collaboration with SD Loyal and YMCA’s youth soccer leagues represents a fantastic new opportunity to support wellness in our community.”
Throughout the upcoming season, the two organizations will also work together to identify and offer a range of experiences and opportunities to grow the game of soccer while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for San Diego’s youth.
“The YMCA and SD Loyal are very much aligned in both our healthy living and youth development efforts,” said Todd Tibbits, President & CEO of the YMCA of San Diego County. “We are happy to begin working with SD Loyal on an educational digital platform targeting youth health and wellness so all San Diego residents can reach their full potential and thrive.”
